What can I say about how I celebrated Cinco de Mayo? I bet a million bucks I spent it the best way possible. Thursday evening, I drove up to Bowling Green with my best friend Michelle to prepared for an amazing weekend. On the schedule: her senior pics, Ania and Mike get married, commencement, and then emotional good byes.
Friday morning came and to be honest, I don’t think I slept. I was excited but also fighting a sinus infection. My first time being sick in years and no only was it a wedding day, it was also raining outside with zero percent chance of sun. No worries though, not only did I have high spirits, my assistant Jessica hustled her way to Bowling Green that morning to help me out!
When we arrived to Ania’s sister’s house to capture the details and her getting ready, we were greeted with hugs and smiles that went from ear to ear. My favorite bridesmaid, Bri, and her little family were also there. Bri has been in 3 (?) weddings so far that I’ve photographed and so seeing her face always warms my heart. Not to mention we now have Oliver who provides the best snuggles and laughs.
This was also the first time I really got to utilize my new car that I got specifically for weddings/hauling around brides! On our way to Schedel’s Gardens, I had Ania, her sister, Bri, and another bridesmaid in my car, complete with gown, bags, Dom, and good jams.
The ceremony, everything leading up to the reception was perfect. After the ceremony, there was a stop in the rain and you’d think it happened just for us. The break lasted just long enough for us to take some group photos and portraits. From there we made our way to the Cigar Affair and The Idiot to capture Ania and Mike in the places where their love flourished.
Upon arriving to their Gatsby inspired wedding, your jaw just dropped. The deep blue back lighting and feather centerpieces created such a party sensation. You wanted to dance the moment you walked in. The rest of the night was a dream. I can’t even begin to express how much my feet hurt…. not from walking around… but from dancing with the newlyweds and family! I could truly talk about this wedding forever but I know you’re just here for the photos! So here they are! ENJOY!!!
