HAPPY #TIPnTRICKTUESDAY!! Is that a thing? If not, I feel like it needs to become one. ANYWAYS, if this is your first time seeing the educational side of things here, then WELCOME! When doing my big revamp and growth spurt... I wanted to be able to provide cool stuff for cool people. One of them being Lr HACKS!
About Lightroom: In the Adobe Suite, Lightroom was created for digital photo processing and editing. Lightroom gives you the ability to import an entire folder of images and view them individually. Once you have mastered your style and created your custom preset, eventually upon import, you’ll be able to import your images with your preset automatically placed on it. This is so much more efficient than Photoshop because could you imagine opening 300+ files into Photoshop without it slowing down your computer? Not only that, you then eliminate having 300+ tabs at the top of the program screen.
SO FOR TRICK NO. 2
It's simple and can be summed up in one letter... "L".
Have you ever gone into Lightroom and while editing wanted to eliminate all the bars and extra and just see you image? But only for a second... without going to file or having to hit arrows to hide everything... well did you know you can? All you have to do is hit "L". Yes... so easy.
Not only that, hitting "L" multiple times cause different things. It's amazing and below I put into detail with images what each press of they key does!
SO we all know what Lr normally looks like (yes, my account still has my maiden name... I need to change that, LOL)
NOW, WHEN YOU PRESS "L" ONCE, THIS IS WHAT YOU GET!
Definitely darker and really helps your image pop so you can see details... Also is refreshing to the eyes when you can just see the image and not all the surrounding noise. When simply pressed, the screen will stay this way... so if you press again, the screen gets darker, then when pressed for a third time, it will go back to normal. ALSO keep in mind too that when you're in this view, you can still scroll through your images without having to go back to the original view. Just hit "L" and use your arrows. BAM, your giving yourself a little presentation.
So this is the screen on the 2nd press. Complete black and only image. Kind of intense, right? Now if you're like me, you don't want to have to press "L" three times, every time you want to use this trick. Luckily, you don't have to. If you press and hold down on "L" you'll get the view shown immediately above and once you lift your finger off, it will go back to normal. So instead of a tap of the key, just hold down for the desire effect.
I hope you enjoyed this quick trick! It's crazy how handy in comes in, especially when you're done editing a wedding and just want to scroll through your catalogue.
AS ALWAYS, HAPPY EDITING!
