Back in 2005 I moved from Alabama to Ohio. This meant a new life, new school, and new friends. One of the big things I was nervous about was the transition from home school to public school... like how easy would it actually be the make friends. Well, one of the first girls I met at my new school was Gabby and we instantly clicked. So all through middle school and leading into high school we remained friends and celebrated at birthday parties, went to the Avenue weekly, and even toilet papered a few houses.
Upon going to college things kind of fell distant but that's usually what happens when you go to colleges on the opposite side of the state. However, when Tyler and I moved to Columbus, we got reconnected because funny story, I need a new hair stylist and Gabby was a stylist right around the corner. It was so good and of course the entire time I was in her chair all I could talk about was how her and Nick needed to just go ahead and be married. So obviously when he FINALLY proposed I freaked out and was ready to party!
Now why I say "FINALLY" with Nick. I also had known Nick since high school and we actually went to college together. Gabby and Nick dated young and the magical part was seeing them overcome a short break up, the teen years, and the "finding ourselves" stage of life. It made me emotionally invest and so excited for them. Not many get to say they married their high school sweetheart. It's special and makes the wedding day even more meaningful.
So on that Sunday we arrived at the Amelita Mirolo Barn and it was like a reunion. On a serious note though, our graduating class didn't have a 5 year reunion so this wedding was nostalgic and more. Gabby's MOH, Taylor... or as we call her "Ferg", had been one of Gabby's friends since basically diapers so she was a familiar face along with Sabreah who I also had known and been friends with since middle school. So many people and even some of the parents who's couches I have slept on more than one.
The ceremony was so sweet and simple with all the greenery filling the space. At the very end, Nick lifted Gabby with excitement and went down the aisle saying "I HAVE A WIFE!" and that joy radiated and was contagious. The reception was so much fun as refreshments were provided by Gabby's mom who owns the Hairless Hare Brewery in Dayton. The beer of the night... LOVE IS BREWING.
Everyone danced the night away and hearts were so full. Can't even express how much it meant to me to be a a part of this day and I can't wait for you to see all the magic! ENJOY! <3
