Before all the Christmas shenanigans really started, I had one final wedding of 2017 and that was Kelly and Dom’s. I’ve known Kelly for years now thanks to our love for Jesus and the fact we went to BGSU together and attended the same church. When moving to Columbus, I ran out to do some errands and bumped into Kelly at the Panera in Polaris. It was so good seeing her and even better knowing she had moved to Columbus too! However, at that point in time she wasn’t engaged so it was just all about catching up.
Fast forward a few months later and Kelly messages me about her wedding date. We met up for coffee and laughed as we realized how crazy it is to plan a wedding and all that it involves.
When we did the engagement session, that was the first time I had met Dom and I’m going to just sum it up and say that God could of not chosen anyone better for Kelly. Dom brings out this whole new level of energy in Kelly. She giggles like there’s no tomorrow, he smiles and just wants to hold her tight the whole time, and they both could care less if I was there or not which made pictures perfect because it was easy for them to ignore me and they just focus on each other.
On the wedding day it was the very same way. Not to mention it was December AND SUNNY. Yes, it was cold in the shaded areas, but the fact we were able to take all pictures, BEAUTIFULLY outside, made the wedding day even more magical. Even before the ceremony, we all sat together and refueled on snacks while I edited the pictures from their perfect first look. Their first look was surrounded by stained glass and soft light. It was romantic in so many ways and gave me the chills.
The church they got married in was timeless and the way they transformed the gym there blew my mind. They thought of everything when it came down to reception decor and the pops of burgundy against the cream created the perfect contrast for a winter wedding.
I’d relive that day all over again if I could. We danced, a lot, and I even got to get grandma out on the dance floor for a bit! Everyone had so much fun and that’s how every wedding should be, fun.
I hope you two had the best honeymoon and I can’t wait to share with all of this amazing day, but till then, enjoy some of my favorites from the last “I do” of 2017!!!!
